Resourcing & Talent Advisor

The Resourcing & Talent team provide bespoke internal recruitment support to departments across the BBC. We are currently seeking a Resourcing & Talent Advisor to join our embedded team within BBC Children's to provide specialist end-to-end recruitment and partner with our production teams to source, develop and retain the best talent to create our award-winning content for BBC Children's young, diverse audiences.

We are looking for a Resourcing & Talent Advisor to join our team for a 12 month FTC/Attachment from June 2019 covering maternity leave.

Role Responsibility

To deliver an exemplary end-to-end resourcing service for BBC Children's Production teams; covering permanent, fixed term contract and freelance hires. With a specific focus on entry level roles across editorial and production management teams.
To provide advice and recommendations to hiring managers on recruitment policy, approaches and sourcing options, in order to attract the best candidates for the BBC.
To prepare job descriptions, competency profiles, selection/assessment toolkits and advertising copy that will appeal to the identified audience and accurately informs about BBC as an 'Employer of Choice'.
To participate in candidate evaluation and selection process, including initial screening, shortlisting and interviewing.
To ensure interviewers are competent and trained in chosen approach and BBC policy.
To ensure the global recruitment system and data processes are fully utilised and all records are kept up to date and accurate, ensuring confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
To maintain a smooth flow of admin throughout the recruitment process e.g. communication to client, candidate, payroll etc. and work with the HR Shared Service Centre to ensure timely and quality of all related recruitment correspondence including all offers of employment.
To contribute to a culture of service excellence and support continuous improvement by bringing insights into the organisation to identify opportunities, risks and priorities.
To positively impact on diversity and inclusion within the scope of the role.
Processing and monitoring DBS checks, advising on mandatory training and assisting with onboarding of new starters to BBC Children's.

Essential skills:

Up-to-date best practice, approaches and thought leadership in Resourcing.
Analyses information rapidly and is able to make informed judgement and provide advice on the best option to progress in line with established process.
Knowledge of how to conduct effective talent & interview techniques.
Proven and effective administrative skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities; utilising policy, procedures and fairness to best resolve issues.
Driven to achieve the right result despite challenging internal / external circumstances.
Able to build trusted relationships with stakeholders to be relied upon as a credible resourcing and talent expert.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; ensures facts are correct, complete and consistent.
Understands how to handle, resolve and escalate queries; passes on information promptly.
Understands how to work effectively in a team to deliver.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal; confident in dealing with the full range of business users, via multiple communication channels.
Desirable skills:

Up-to-date experience of market mapping, headhunting, talent pooling and talent pipelining.
Prior experience of working with systems such as SAP & applicant tracking systems
Prior experience of working within an in-house recruitment function
Understanding of the production environment and a passion for supporting the creation of content for our young and diverse BBC Children's audience.
Understanding of jurisdictional law, regulation and policy in relation to talent & resourcing.
