This is an exciting opportunity for Researchers.BBC Studios is a global creative powerhouse for the development, production and distribution of bold, British, content. We produce over 2,500 hours of content per year, operate in 22 markets globally and generate revenue of £1.4bn, returning around £200m profit to BBC Public Service each year.Our Factual Entertainment department in Cardiff produces a wide range of original, well-loved and highly acclaimed TV productions, such as Bargain Hunt, X-Ray, Weatherman Walking and The One Show.We are looking for a pool of Researchers to join BBC Studios and work across productions. Our pool of successful candidates will enable you to be offered work as and when those opportunities arise during peak periods.This role is based in Roath Lock, Cardiff. However due to the Covid-19 outbreak and restrictions around social distancing this role would primarily be working from home at present. You would be required to go into the office prior to each shoot to prep and then go out on the shoot and may also need to go into the edit occasionally. Once restrictions are lifted the role will be based full time in Roath Lock, Cardiff. The successful candidate will regularly go on location for recces and filming and must be prepared to be away for 2 nights at a time throughout the year. In general, normal office hours will apply, however the nature of the role means that a flexible approach to working time will be necessary.Main ResponsibilitiesTo be able to work under pressure to tight, relentless deadlines.To work as part of a team with colleagues in production, high-profile presenting talent and film crews.To work effectively to ensure all content is thoroughly researched and meets the BBC's editorial standards. To carry out all duties in accordance with Health and Safety regulations.Undertake independent research to a specific brief using whatever resources are available, evaluating and presenting the information in an easy to understand format.Are you the right candidate?You will have a knowledge of the TV production process and some technical know-how.You will have a knowledge of BBC Archive systems and copyright law.Great communicator with the confidence to build strong working relationships with a wide range of contacts.Excellent planning and organisational skills, with a track record of meeting tight deadlines in a fast turnaround environment.Good attention to detail and factual accuracy.A strong desire to make engaging television.A valid driving licence will be necessary in order to drive to and from outside broadcasts.
