Business overview per Business Area:

Our research team at Coronation Street is a big part of making us the UKs number 1 continuing drama and we have a fantastic opportunity for a Researcher to join our Editorial team. In this busy and varied role you will be responsible for the accurate and incisive research on Coronation Street storylines and scripts.

This role entails...

Dealing with writers, editorial staff, the Production team and outside contacts, you will be responsible for monitoring all research requirements and proactively seeking alternative ways to run a story.

Some Key Responsibilities:

Briefing story team on factual accuracy as appropriate to storylines and issuing research documents.

Completing all checks and providing briefing notes for Producers, Directors and Script Editors, including providing general research - factual accuracy, compliance, legal and copyright issues.

Proactively providing research based story alternatives to allow proposed storylines to develop.

Attending Commissioning and Story Conferences and immediately addressing any research queries to facilitate constructive story discussion, as and when appropriate.

Research on behalf of production teams - sourcing and clearing footage and music. Dealing with any compliance/neg checking issues.

Creating and maintaining a research database and records.

Dealing with all other ad-hoc queries.

To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:

Excellent written and verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Ability to manage own workload and work independently.

Experience of working with compliancy or factual accuracy issues.

Experience of working in a television drama environment.
