We require a CCTV researcher who is responsible for contacting police forces to gather CCTV footage, then collating and compiling the daily CCTV round-up. An understanding of legal and editorial issues is crucial to this role. Experience of scripting/ writing would be highly advantageous, as would some experience in an edit.

We are also looking to fill research roles on the filming teams. You will have a keen eye for identifying potential stories, excellent organisational skills and the ability to keep detailed, accurate notes and briefing documents. You will be working as part of a small team on a very busy production. You will be required to assist during filming so will need experience of working on location. An ability to self-shoot is desirable but not essential.

For both roles, successful candidates will have a strong background in television production and/or a very strong journalistic background, a creative mindset and a positive attitude and. Knowledge of legal issues and BBC editorial policy guidelines, particularly with regards to crime output, is key. You will have great people skills and the ability to work tactfully and diplomatically with the police and sensitive contributors. You will be experienced in working under pressure and able to remain determined when tracking down hard to find information
