North One TV Midlands are looking for an experienced Researcher to join the Travel Man team in the new year for the remainder of series 8. Initially, we require one Researcher from the beginning of January for approximately 12 weeks, with a view of extending for a follow-on series.
The production is Birmingham based.

Applicants must understand our current format and be able to contribute creatively to shaping the new series. The ideal candidate must be able to assess potential destinations and find things that will make each place feel different.

Our Researchers and APs recce the destinations together, usually with a local fixer, and are involved in all aspects of planning the shoot. You will be required to go on the shoots and will play an essential role in the smooth running of a fast paced schedule with high profile talent.

This role comes with a lot of responsibility so we are looking for applicants who already have 2 or 3 broadcast Researcher credits, can demonstrate strong editorial judgement and who ideally have experience of working with talent. You also need excellent writing skills, energy and a sense of humour. Experience of working on primetime shows or comedy is an advantage.

You will need to be available for interview at our Birmingham office from now until mid-December.

Passport and UK driving licence are mandatory. Additional languages are a bonus.
