If you like the sound of working in production and if being in the competitive and demanding world of broadcasting is something that appeals to you, then do think about applying.The BBCs Production Trainee Scheme is recognised across the industry for providing gold-standard training and development opportunities. It will also provide you with great foundation skills for building and developing a career in media production.To be accepted onto the scheme you do not need any academic qualifications, or specific training, just a passion, that you can demonstrate, for creating content and coming up with ideas.This scheme is one of the main entry-level routes into production based roles across TV, Radio and Digital Production at the BBC.Role ResponsibilityDuring the 11-month programme you will develop a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the production process, from idea concept through to broadcast. You will gain a range of skills and experience and learn how to pitch and research ideas as well as how to create content for a variety of audio, visual and online platforms.The scheme combines work experience placements/on-the-job training with production teams across many parts of the BBCs content, with bespoke BBC Academy learning delivered by industry professionals.You will have placements (each lasting c. 14 weeks) across the UK, in Radio, Television and Digital and you will be working with teams producing some of the BBCs most popular content.You will need to be able to work flexibly as you will required to work on a variety of productions and perhaps across various BBC bases. In your application you may state your preference regarding a main base.The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for people who can demonstrate a genuine passion and interest for television, radio or digital media. This could be work experience (not more than 12 months continuous work) or via personal projects like running an online blog, getting involved in local radio or creating short films.Demonstrating your passion is not limited to these activities tell us what makes you a creative individual and why the BBC needs you to help shape and deliver its content!
