Production Support Engineer

Barons Court, London

The Production and Support Engineer is an integral part of the Aurora Media team. You will be responsible for managing Post Production facilities across the business. You will have an excellent understanding of edit systems, networks, storage solutions, workflows and management servers and you will have excellent experience of managing a variety of work streams. You will also manage all of our technical assets including a variety of broadcast equipment. You will be able to oversee all of the above as part of live large scale events.

You must be passionate about broadcast technology and post production systems. There will be significant opportunities to learn and grow and you will need to have the ambition and drive to cope and be excited by a very busy environment. You will be expected to have strong relationship building skills, and a can-do attitude.

Strong IT skills are essential and 2 or more years in a previous Post Production / Engineering role. Knowledge of configuring Adobe, QNap, Synology and Space networks as well as Live Broadcast technology would be advantageous.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Basic IP networking and routing
• Detailed knowledge of Mac Pro, iMac and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite systems
• Broadcast technology, signals and infrastructure
• Video codecs and file formats
• Media storage technology
• TV Outside Broadcast production techniques
• Competently work with Broadcast technical guidelines, including DPP guidelines.
• Work with Editors and Engineers to regularly review systems to ensure we are as up to date as we can be.
• Use analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of ingest, edit and delivery, identify areas for improvements
• Monitor, support and engage with our broadcast, networking, IT and digital partners

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:
• You'll ideally have a Broadcast Technology degree or equivalent knowledge gained from experience.
• Experience in using management asset systems
