Production Operations Director

WFH / London / Soho

The Production Operations Director is an essential and leading role that is responsible for the implementation of project workflows with all production teams. Working alongside the Head of Production and Creative Director to define and orchestrate operating strategies for our business.

We are a leading British production company that makes high profile films for many of the world's major television networks. Founded in 1993, the company has a proud track record of producing award-winning films in a range of factual genres and historical investigations of current affairs stories.

We are investing in people and its infrastructure so it can scale its ability to manage an increased number of productions. The company works internationally and across several languages with a variety of crews to meet the requirements of its programming.

The position is a member of our management team and serves as the primary point of contact between production, content management and post-production. Ensuring that all productions fulfil expected technical and quality standards and collaborate with downstream departments to keep content flowing and schedules updated.

This position's other expected responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

? Ensure that workflows realise both the creative intent of the production project and stay in line with the business workflow requirements / rules.
? Apply strategic technical and operational knowledge to the production company to run efficiently and to scale
for future growth.
? To be accountable to the senior management team for all project operations from development through post-production and delivery.
? Work closely with the Head of Content Management and Head of Post-Production to deliver projects.
? Write and be responsible for a Production Operations playbook and all guide documentation for the production business.
? Implement and maintain an operational training policy for all production crew and freelancers.
? Budget / commercial input with the Head of Production.
? Schedule input with the Head of Production.
? Understand the value and importance of the company's IP and content to help the Content Management Department with cataloguing and accessibility of the company's archive.
? Maintain and manage third-party suppliers in a professional and open manner.
? Improve productions, quality, and performance on a continuous basis.
? Control the department's budget and capital expenditures.

The Ideal Candidate

? Experience working in a production environment or professional media is preferred.
? Broad understanding of media and broadcast technologies, as well as digital systems.
? Expert knowledge of production techniques, as well as the ability to confidently use that expertise.
? Working knowledge of cameras and media management tools and processes.
? Exceptional attention to detail and a desire to improve processes on a continuous basis.
? Excellent customer service skills with a track record of dealing with challenging situations.
? Excellent people management abilities and previous team management experience.
? A self-motivated, well-organised team player who can prioritise busy schedules in response to changing business needs.
? Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels of the organisation.
