Production Manager

Stockley Business Park, Uxbridge

Reporting to the Head of Production and the Production Executive, the Production Manager will assist the department Head of Production and Production Executive across the production slate and work alongside the editorial team.

Key Accountabilities
• Managing day-to-day production logistics for various programme formats; live studio, outside broadcasts, magazine and short form, ensuring they are produced efficiently, on budget and adhere to compliance and H&S guidelines.
• Ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget.
• Manage programme budgets and delivering to time and budget. Undertaking the cost reports, forecasts and report to Production Executive & Production Accountant.
• In conjunction with the Production Executive, Producers and Directors work on the schedule and planning for MLS and UEFA departments, ensuring that staffing needs of shows are met.
• Develop an effective relationship with internal facility providers and other external suppliers, ensuring regular communication, and being able to troubleshoot issues and potential delays.
• Responsible for the dissemination of production reports; including knowing what the information means, gaps that require discussion and trends that appear.
• Run production meetings to ensure clear communication, dissemination of information, acknowledge accomplishments and discuss challenges.
• Advise the Production Executive/Head of Production of any potential problems or issues, particularly those impacting schedule and budget, and come prepared with proposed solutions
• Provide mentorship and opportunities for growth for production staff, including delegating targeted tasks and empowering production staff to take on additional responsibilities if required.
• Be transparent regarding pertinent issues and concerns with staff and freelancers and show leadership.
• When relevant and appropriate, convey departmental initiatives to staff and crew.
• Work to establish new processes, procedures and methods that improve production systems and outcomes and overall workflow
• You may also be required to carry out any other duties which are within the scope and purpose of the job.
• In conjunction with the Production Executive and Executive Producer ensure all Health and Safety procedures are adhered to and appropriate plans and paperwork are in place.
• Ensure all freelancers are contracted correctly as per HMRC guidelines.
• Liaise with Legal to ensure all licence agreements and music clearances are in place as required.

Required Experience and Skills
• Previous production management for several different shows of different genres, at least two of magazine shows, studio, OB, live.
• Experience in managing a team
• Strong ability to produce a production budget and cost reporting, cost tracking and forecasting
• Fieldglass/CXC/Payroll experience
• Knowledge of post-production, archive and music clearance, insurance, health & safety
• Previous experience of live programming
• Production technical knowledge
• Experience in dealing UK broadcasters, understanding of UK TV industry
• Experience with IR35/HMRC guidance.
• Health & Safety Passport- Safe Management of Productions.

Working Conditions
• This is a fixed-term maternity cover role (up to 12 months in duration) and will be based at Stockley Business Park, Uxbridge.
• Working hours are Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
• Weekend work and unsocial hours during the European Qualifiers Matchdays and Nations League will need PM to manage demands at Stockley Park, October & November in 2021 and then March 2022.
• Nations League will also resume next year schedule which will involve some weekend work and late shifts. Major League Soccer runs steadily throughout this period.
