Production Manager

London

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (Play Your Part):
Chelsea Football Club requires a Production Manager to join their production team based at Stamford Bridge. Overseeing all outside broadcast and location shoot production, projects and logistical requirements within the team. The Production Manager is a key role in the team and is responsible for managing the production of our broadcast coverage and other filming activity ensuring the smooth running and successful delivery. Our portfolio of events includes entertainment specials, live shows, live shows from outside ground, Player of the Year, End of the Season events, first team matches (examples but not limited to).

GAME COVERAGE & LIVE SHOWS
• Lead, plan and resource the production elements of Chelsea TV studio, remote & outside broadcasts and other filming particularly focused around our match day streams.
• Responsible for crewing and managing the freelance crew resource for our remote matchday productions and outside broadcast games and events.
• Liaise with the FA, UEFA& Premier League Match day coverage and manage the schedules for our outside productions, including Academy and Women's matches and Matchday live shows.
• Arranging satellite feeds, downlinks and on-passes for any other live games shown on the platforms.
• Forecast and budgeting for Live game coverage & OBs across all categories, reconciling invoices with accounts and managing all additional kit and freelancer bookings (cameras / editors / producers etc.)

LOCATION SHOOT PRODUCTION
• Manage and resource shoots and project with the ideal in house and freelance team. Confident managing shoots, planning, hiring and negotiating with contractors.
• Arranging and overseeing documentation as necessary for film shoots and OB coverage - such H&S risk assessments, film permits, accreditations, liability insurance, travel arrangements, contributor release forms etc.
• Internal point of contact for any Location shoot operational & logistical enquiries and ensuring all shoots are planned accurately according to requirements.

• Consistent contribution to live games planning schedule and Location shoot planning.
• Ensure all live game schedule & content production are planned and delivered smoothly and within budget.
• Manage cost estimations and monitor spend accurately providing support to Operations & Production Lead.
• Projects requirements, deliverables and deadlines tracked, monitored and communicated effectively. Issues/risks/ delays identified and communicated accordingly to the required teams.
• An efficient and well organised way of working- supporting Chelsea TV's editorial and creative demands and managing all technical requirements with a creative and innovative approach.
• Organised ways of working across all areas in the department.
• Value for Money productions and resourcing in place across the teams, with opportunities for collaboration/sharing of resources.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:

Experience:
Essential

• Thorough understanding of Live production, editorial and technical processes involved in the making of a range of programs across content creation, Sports industry and Branded Content is required.
• Experience and solid understanding of lines booking, satellite and OB broadcasting equipment facilities and feeds.
• 4+ years' experience in live content production and coordinating with an ability to work as part of a team but also to work independently when required.
• Solid experience in on-site production of live sports broadcast, understanding of OB Facilities and studio shows requirements.
• Strong knowledge and experience in scoping, budgets and cost tracking.
• Experience of managing crews, creating call sheets, risk assessments.

Skills:

• Creative and innovative approach: to finding technical and cost-effective solutions.

Desirable

• Football industry experience is desirable.
