BT SPORT is looking for a number of highly organised and motivated freelance Production Managers to join the production management team, working across our sporting properties, including Boxing and FA Women's Super League. You may also be required to work across other domestic and international football properties, as well as Hockey and Speedway.This critical role will involve working across all aspects of production management and represents a great opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to work in sports television. The role will involve travel, weekend work and some unsociable hours in the office and onsite.The successful candidates will start on Monday 1 July 2019, with the end date to be discussed depending on the production but will be a long term/ongoing assignment. END DATE FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST: FRIDAY 31 MAY.ROLE• Manage all aspects of production management for live outside broadcasts, studios, galleries and shoots, including planning, technical requirements, schedules, freelancer, supplier and contributor bookings and management, logistics (including travel and accommodation bookings, transportation), call sheet preparation and distribution, venue liaison and location management.• Manages the production budget, as well as cost reporting and forecasting to management and finance via our financial system (Provys).• Ensure purchase orders raised and invoices processed in a timely manner.• Responsible for the health, safety and risk assessment management for their production.• Work closely with production team to ensure delivery of programming as advised by editorial team.• Work closely with internal departments to ensure all scheduled programming is available for transmission/delivery.• Liaison and negotiation with stakeholders, suppliers, third parties and freelancers to ensure programming delivered on time.• Liaising with and maintaining excellent relationships with external clients and suppliers.• Responsible for deciding and negotiating rates for the production.• Supervises and manages the Production Co-ordinators/Secretaries allocated to the production.• Analyses and improves production workflow efficiencies.• Book, update and review technical facilities required for programming, including communications with internal and external partners, internet and fibre connections, uplink/downlink and playout.• Complete all necessary production paperwork, as well as ensuring all data entered into the bookings and financial system (Provys).• Book non-technical programming requirements, including green rooms and catering. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE - REQUIRED:• Experience working as a Production Manager for live OB, studio and gallery television production environments (ideally sport).• Proven experience of leading, developing and motivating teams.• Strong business and finance skills in creating, forecasting and managing large production resources and budgets.• Strong negotiating skills and proven experience of influencing, managing and negotiating deals and contracts in line with BT policies and guidelines. • An understanding and experience of managing the technical and creative processes of production, post production and playout.• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).• The ability to manage interpersonal relationships effectively and work collaboratively within a diverse team.• Strong organisational and planning skills and proven experience of managing conflicting demands to meet deadlines.• Impeccable attention to detail.• A good knowledge of health and safety guidelines/regulations.• Excellent PC skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint.• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.• Extensive television industry contacts.• Proven ability to proactively devise new ideas for working more efficiently.• Ability to work unsociable hours in the office and onsite.• A good knowledge of sport.• Experience of monitoring and managing Health & Safety on a production.
