Production Manager

Cruise Ship

Reporting to Cruise Director
Responsible for Technical Team
General Standard ship rules, regulations and personnel issues must be adhered to as outlined in the handbook. All duties must be carried out in accordance with ships rules, health and safety guidelines, the national laws of countries visited and without discrimination to staff, crew or passengers regarding race, nationality, gender, religion, age, sexuality or disability. You must also take part in fire and lifeboat drills as directed.
Role Overview The role of the Production Manager is to take overall responsibility for managing the technical team, the ship wide technical requirements and technical reporting. Working with the Show Team Leader to maintaining the high standard of PEEL shows.
Specific Responsibilities
Production Manager
• Responsibility for managing sound, light, staging, and props in all production/performance areas (including theatre, 2nd lounges, decks, corridors, restaurants, and bars)
• Call Rehearsals (liaising with Show Team Leader & CD over suitable time slot and allowance for required rehearsal period.
• Run Rehearsals (liaising with Show Team Leader & Dance Captain prior to rehearsal to discuss the outline of scheduled rehearsal)
• Monitor punctuality (for all calls - rehearsals, backstage call times, cabaret start times, band start times)
• Monitor accuracy of delivery (as set during set-up or as re-addressed by PEEL head office direction and authorisation)
• Completion of daily show reports with full and detailed information
• Health & Safety checks of all performance areas pre and post show
• Monitor the performance, material, and accuracy of all musicians
• Play and monitor sound levels of all background music (BGM) ship wide and ensure the correct music is playing in each venue
• Monitor all environmental lighting ship wide throughout the day and evening
• Prepare daily technical rota and monthly fairness rota
• Complete fault report document and send via e-mail as soon as a fault is raised
• Complete weekly report containing any technical updates per venue, weekly rotas, outstanding faults, and cleared faults






• Complete monthly summary containing all outstanding faults
• Monitor accuracy of delivery from all technicians
• Monitor punctuality of all technicians to set duties
• Liaise with technical management onboard when required and report any updates
• Comment on team appraisals as required
• Manage technical duties of entire technical
• Monitor role and responsibilities of the Digital Content Manager and Broadcast Technician
