Production Manager

Central London

Doc Society is an innovative non-profit organisation founded in 2005 that works with the most inspiring documentary film makers all over the world.

Doc Society has been designated the BFI's delegate partner to run the BFI Documentary Film Fund.

As a result it now seeks a highly experienced individual with a passion for non-fiction to take on the key role of Production Manager for the Fund.

The ROLE

You will provide vital support to filmmakers throughout the production process, whilst also working with internal departments to ensure applications are reviewed efficiently and budgets are monitored.

Key Responsibilities -
• Assess applications and budgets, assessing the viability of projects and contribute to the decision making process.
• Be the friend of the film maker, advising them on budgets, production schedules, rights clearances and deliverables
• Provide software tutorials and provide advice on budgeting and production issues.
• Record grantee progress and create statistical reports on the findings.
• Co-ordinate with the finance department to reconcile accounts.
• Collaborate with senior members to manage outreach and attend events.

The CANDIDATE

With extensive experience as a Production Manager within independent documentary films, you will have excellent budget management skills and an in depth understanding of all aspects of production.

A warm, friendly personality, and the ability to communicate with people at all levels is essential to this role, as is the ability to keep calm in a pressurised environment.

You will have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, excellent writing skills, and naturally, an absolute passion for documentary filmmaking.
