BBC Studios Factual Entertainment & Events Cardiff produce a wide range of original, diverse, well-loved and highly acclaimed TV productions, such as Bargain Hunt, Weatherman Walking, One Show inserts and X-Ray.We are looking for an experienced Production Manager primarily for BBC1 daytime antiques series Bargain Hunt, one of the BBC's best-loved and most popular programmes. The successful candidate will work closely with the Series Producer to manage a large team and deliver 96 new episodes each year. The role covers all aspects of production management, from pre-production and budgeting to the scheduling of location filming at antiques fairs and auctions across the UK. You will also oversee the post production process and delivery of episodes to UK and Worldwide broadcasters. Main ResponsibilitiesResponsibility for scheduling, budgeting and managing the production from pre-production through to delivery.Be able to effectively lead a large team which includes a JPM, PMAs and Runners, including identifying and implementing training needs.Ensure the smooth running of location shoots involving members of the public.Provide timely and accurate comms to the large production team of on-screen talent and craft freelancers.Have a firm understanding of health and safety needs at a large public-facing events.Negotiate with suppliers to get the best service for the BBC.Work with editorial and production colleagues to reduce the environmental impact of the production.Are you the right candidate?Demonstrable experience as a Production Manager or Junior Production Manager on high volume programming and ideally with experience in event-based programming or large location shoots, with a proven track record of delivering on time and on budget.Demonstrable experience in the day to day management of production staff, undertaking responsibility for their recruitment, appraisal and training.Must be able to travel for shoots on occasion, as required.Must have a proven track record of being organised and responsive in a fast-paced environment.Must have a thorough knowledge of commissioning and local greenlight processes, ensuring resources and editorial production aspirations are aligned.Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, engaging with high level talent, internal and external partners, and interacting with the public on location.Must have excellent financial reporting skills.Have a desire to engage with, and develop the commercial potential for the series
