The National Theatre is currently looking for a Production Manager to join the Broadcast Department on a 12 Month FTC.National Theatre Live launched in June 2009 to broadcast theatre productions live into cinemas around the world and is now seen by over 8 million people. As well as National Theatre productions we also work with a number of external producers and theatres. The broadcast department sits within the National Theatre and we plan, schedule and manage all the elements around the productions including the programming, live outside broadcasts, short form content, distribution, contracts, rights and royalties. The department also houses the NT's Content Production Studio who are responsible for short form content for both NT Live and across the National Theatre.The Production Manager is a key role in the team and is responsible for managing the production of our NT Live broadcasts and other filming activity to ensure the smooth running and successful delivery of our broadcasts and surrounding content. Reporting to the Executive Producer, you will work closely with the Senior Producers, Technical Producer and key National Theatre and external stakeholders.• You will lead, plan and resource the production elements of NT Live broadcasts and other filming at the National Theatre including the outside broadcasts and short form content. • You will work closely with the Broadcast team and a variety of stakeholders to manage the schedules and budgets for our productions.• You will line manage and be supported by two Deputy Production Managers.• You will be responsible for hiring and managing the freelance crew resource for our broadcasts• You will liaise with National Theatre and external theatre technical departments and a variety of creative and production stakeholders at the National Theatre. • This role would suit a Production Manager with direct experience of live event production and broadcast with significant experience in related fields such as live music, theatre or event coverage. You must have a love and passion for the arts and experience of working on location in a variety of venues.
