Production Journalist - ITV CalendarBased LeedsWe are looking for an experienced and multi-skilled Production Journalist to join our broadcast and digital news team at ITV Calendar. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated journalist, who loves the production and teamworking involved in broadcast news. You'll also have a passion to tell stories from across this exciting and richly diverse part of the UK. You'll have a current contacts list, bulging with links to different communities, the ability to bring in ideas and a clear understanding of how to get them to air.The Calendar region is extremely diverse culturally, and we're increasing our efforts to be more inclusive and representative of our region. With that ambition in mind, we're on the search for a qualified journalist who, along with the rest of our team, will start to uncover and produce stories with particular appeal to our many black, asian and minority ethnic viewers - bringing these stories to the mainstream. You will be able to show how you cope with a demanding and changing workload, meet frequent tight deadlines and work calmly and inclusively under pressure. You'll also be able to share strong examples of working to a tight deadline in remote conditions during the pandemic.The role is based in our Leeds newsroom and the successful candidate will work on television and digital news production, from producing early, late and weekend bulletins, to creating online content that enhances our reputation, and the engagement to go viral. You will need to be flexible in terms of working hours, including weekends, late and early shifts and bank holidays. You will also have excellent written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to demonstrate good working relationships with colleagues and external contacts. You will have good editorial judgement and social media skills.
