Job Introduction
BBC Studios is the most awarded Production Company and the biggest independent producer in the UK. The Factual Entertainment team in Bristol produces a wide range of original, diverse, well-loved and highly acclaimed TV productions, such as DIY SOS, Countryfile, Antiques Roadshow, Nigella, Gardeners' World and See Hear, as well as up and coming shows for external customers.

We are looking for a Production Executive to join the business on a 1 year Fixed Term Contract to provide strategic production management for a portfolio of content from idea to distribution. They will lead and develop a team of production management, driving change and continuous improvement, and taking on base responsibilities for output from the Bristol site.

Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Production, the selected candidates will be tasked with leading, developing and motivating teams across a range of output for the genre. They will have considerable knowledge of the industry, our competitors and demonstrate a real passion for the role. Experience of leading and driving significant change in a complex environment is a key need for the role as is experience implementing strategy and contributing to its development. The selected candidates will have significant knowledge of end-to-end multi-platform production to ensure the most efficient production of content. Thorough knowledge of commissioning and local green light procedures in order to drive the processes, ensuring resources and editorial aspirations are aligned are strongly desired as experience managing co-productions and/or complex rights and funding models.

Please bear in mind that we will only consider candidates with significant experience at senior production management level in the Factual Entertainment or Factual realm working across a diverse slate of productions

Are you the right candidate?
Must have substantive experience working in a Senior production role.
Previous experience negotiating budgets and contracts with broadcaster programme finance and business affairs departments.
Demonstrable experience in the management of productions from start to final delivery, including the day to day management of production staff, undertaking responsibility for their recruitment, appraisal and training.
Ability to manage the expectations of creatives whilst delivering to the highest possible standard within the parameters set by the budget and schedule and suggesting practical and affordable solutions when these are challenged.
Proven experience of assisting in the provision and management of centralised resources.
Extensive experience of leading and inspiring production teams in a multi-platform environment and an ability to demonstrate strong managerial skills and positive behaviours.
Effective planning and organising skills with the ability to concentrate on several areas of work at one time, prioritising, delivering consistently to deadlines and reacting positively to changes and conflicting priorities
