Production Coordinator Training Scheme

This role is offered as part of Channel 4's celebrated Production Training Scheme. In 2017/18 we are offering 16 places to diverse entry level talent who want to break into the media industry.

The Production Training Scheme is a paid 12 month opportunity based at one of the UK's independent production companies. Roles will be available across the UK, and you will be asked your location preference if you are invited to attend an assessment day at Channel 4. If you are successful, as well as working at the independent production company you will receive monthly training at Channel 4 to help you begin to build your career.

Production Co-ordinator
What does a Production Co-ordinator do?
A coordinator helps the Production Manager with the smooth running of the production from organising the early morning taxis to set to preparing the post production paperwork that is delivered to the broadcaster.

Who makes a good Co-ordinator?
To be a good coordinator you need to be the organised one in your group of friends; you are always the one who knows where you are going, when and how you're going to get there. You don't need to be a maths genius but you aren't scared of numbers and enjoy working with Excel. You must relish working in a team and be able to problem solve quickly in a pressured situation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Providing admin support for the Production team (creating call sheets etc)
2. Running duties (helping on set, getting teas and coffees for talent / crew etc)
3. Helping to co-ordinate shoots (booking kit, accommodation and travel)
4. Organising Post Production paperwork (music cue sheets etc)
5. Providing office support to teams out on location
6. Managing petty cash/floats

PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Keen interest in television production, particularly the Production Coordinator / Production Manager role
- Strong organisational skills to keep the crew on the road
- Good attention to detail and getting things right!
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise
- Confidence to do things under own initiative when necessary
- Ability to work well within teams and a be a supportive team player
- Familiarity and ease when working with computers & with numbers
- Ability to learn new software and use programmes like Excel
- Excellent communication skills
- Driving licence beneficial
