Through great writing and attention to detail the show manages to successfully balance gritty realism with high drama and entertainment to keep its millions of dedicated viewers coming back for more, on-screen and on-line, every week.
The Post Production & Music Co-Ordinator reports to the Post Production Supervisor in the first instance, and is responsible for ensuring all post production paperwork is accurately completed and submitted. The candidate will also be responsible for selecting and clearing all commercial music for the show as well as selecting, clearing and reporting music for Worldwide version sales to North America.
Role Responsibility
The postholder will be solely responsible for the following duties:
Selecting all commercial music for the show, and clearing the tracks using PRS, PPL and Fastclear. This includes providing excellent knowledge of current music, new trends, chart music and past charts.
Maintaining a strong relationship with the BBC Music copyright department and ensuring you are aware of all the latest BBC Blanket agreement rules and how this impacts on the production.
Building excellent relationships with record labels and radio stations to ensure access to the latest music releases and play lists.
Be the main point of contact with directors and editors regarding music clearance and sourcing of requested music, as well as suggesting suitable music for inclusion.
Being a Silvermouse superuser and single point of contact for not only EastEnders, but BBC Drama. Problem solving user issues and organising logons for new starters.
Selecting, clearing & reporting any new TV Archive footage used in the show including building good relationships with other productions across the BBC in order to record bespoke archive content.
Being the main point of contact for all copyright clearance issues at EastEnders, including liaising with the Design department for clearance on DVD and book covers, telephone numbers, games footage etc.
Completing and submitting all Programme as Complete forms (PasC) for every episode.
Completing and submitting all Music Reporting Forms for every episode.
Creating a library of cleared music for the North America remix version and completing and submitting their Music Reporting Form for every episode.
Deputising for the Post Production Supervisor in their absence and overseeing the running of the department as well as being responsible for the delivery of all BBC TX masters and UKTV versions.

You Should Have

An informed interest in television drama production, with a demonstrable passion for EastEnders and its programme and character history.
A keen interest in, and an excellent knowledge of, popular and current and past music across various styles and genres.
Knowledge and experience of BBC post production paperwork requirements and all current BBC Blanket Agreement rules.
Experience using Silvermouse or similar post production reporting system.
Proven experience working in a demanding office environment.
Good knowledge of the post production workflow and facilities environment.
Knowledge of all BBC policies and regulations, which are relevant to post production, with a strong knowledge of music copyright, TV archives and artist's rights.
The ability to work under own initiative and manage a busy and demanding workload.
Experience of office and information technology, including Windows 2007, and a minimum typing speed of 40wpm.
Experience of establishing and maintaining office and administration systems, and the ability to communicate information effectively to a wide range of production and non production personnel, internal and external to the BBC.
Experience of handling confidential and commercially sensitive information with tact and sensitivity.
Sound command of English.
