WHAT'S YOUR NEW ROLE ABOUT?

In 2017, Perform and the WTA created WTA Media, a joint venture until 2026 whereby Perform own and manage the broadcast rights of 47 WTA tournaments worldwide.

WTA Media oversees all the global production and distribution of 47 events on the WTA calendar and are the host broadcast at 24 tournaments as well as responsible for the World Feed production and delivery of content from the other 23 tournaments.

The commitment to the WTA and broadcasters is to provide coverage of all main draw singles matches, and some doubles with consistent high-quality production and branding. In addition, WTA Media manages the commentary from all singles matches, a daily news feed including bespoke interviews and match highlights, the WTA magazine programme, a 26" highlights show from the major tournaments, a Player Profile Documentary series, features and key digital content.

HERE'S YOUR ROLE BROKEN DOWN (NOT ALL OF IT, JUST THE MOST IMPORTANT STUFF)

WTA Media are looking for an experienced Sports Media Producer to work across tournament content within the production team for all 47 WTA events.

Starting in October 2018, the successful candidate will work with the Series Producer to ensure all content is delivered to relevant broadcast rights holders, the WTA and digital platforms. The role will also report to the Series Producer on key production planning and post production rotas and budgets as well as manage and develop key talent on the production team.

The Producer will drive the editorial and production values of the Player Profile Documentary Series and will also have responsibility for the budgeting and facility assignment of each project alongside another Producer.

The successful candidate will also develop Magazine show running orders, including scripts, and produce all levels of content for the show. They will assist in the management of a team of assistant producers to meet the content requirements of the WTA and travel to key tournaments.

Based in West London, the role will also involve working on location, filming and producing content as well as liaising with WTA Communications team to ensure both parties maximise filming and production output. The candidate will also be required to drive creative initiatives and the entertainment value of the product and contribute ideas and planning towards the 2019 content plan.

The ideal candidate should have experience in script writing, editing and visualising a creative idea from its conception through post production and an understanding of the logistics of news feed content and being able to separate entertainment value from hard news.

The role will have potential to develop within the Host Broadcast production team to work across aspects of the Live production, particularly producing Live replays and World Feed GFX.

The WTA Media Producer will work on and be responsible for:

• Producing and delivering innovative, creative and exciting content for use across all WTA platforms, including the Player Profile documentary series, the WTA Magazine show, news feeds and Broadcaster requests.
• Working directly with in-house facilities to ensure content is produced within budget and to a high standard at all times.
• Working directly with the WTA and Broadcast partners on content requirements.
• Setting up promo shoots and feature content with the WTA communications team and player agents to enhance the production values and entertainment of WTA.
• Driving the Player Documentary Series with the WTA and Broadcasters.
• Implementing the production of the News Feed for 2019 and delivering workflows around it.
• Delivering all content within budgets outlined by the Series Producer and Senior Production Manager.
• Managing client requests logistically and financially.
• Overseeing WTA Media portal subscription and access.

DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS?
• Understanding of production values for high end client content.
• Evidence of managing team of Producers working across all types of content.
• Mentoring and developing the content team's production skillset.
• Appreciation of workflow operations and procedures for digital and broadcast content.
• Basic post production levels e.g. to rough cut news and sports content, and feature rushes.
• Self-shooting capabilities (not essential) on Broadcast quality cameras.
• Comfortable in interviewing some of the biggest names in sport and getting the best out of them.
• Experience in script writing.
• Understanding content archives and file sharing formats.
• Brand awareness and ability to work well with external clients.
• Consideration of the difference between news and entertainment content.
• Self-driven to work hard in difficult and demanding situations.
• Creative outside the box mentality, anything is possible.
• Willingness to travel (100+ days per year)
