The last year has been a very exciting one for Classic FM: the brand's 25th birthday was celebrated in September, we delivered some outstanding RAJAR results (including an increase of over 40% in our youngest demographic), and we cemented our position as the leading classical music brand online and on social media worldwide. Now, we're looking for a new producer to become part of the UK's most popular classical music station, working with an award-winning team. This specific position will primarily focus on Classic FM's weekend output. Working on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as midweek, you'll produce a number of live shows. Although the exact programmes in question will depend on the experience of the successful candidate, it's likely your responsibilities will include our flagship mid-morning show, presented by Bill Turnbull. You will also work with presenters such as Myleene Klass, Aled Jones, Charlotte Hawkins and Alexander Armstrong, all of whom play a central part in the success of Classic FM.What you'll be doing...Working Wednesday to Sunday, you'll prep and produce a range of programmes: from live mid-morning shows, to more specialist, pre-recorded outputChoosing and scheduling music for a variety of programmes - anything from Saturday Night at the Movies, to Alan Titchmarsh's Saturday breakfast showMaking sure we deliver sponsored, commercial content flawlessly on-airWorking closely with other producers, to deliver station-wide prioritiesWhat we expect from you...Experience of producing relevant radio programming, with clearly transferable skills that can be applied to Classic FMAn excellent knowledge of the music we play on Classic FM, alongside the ability to schedule music using GSelector (you don't necessarily have to be a classical music 'expert' - your radio experience is the most crucial thing here - but you'll certainly be at an advantage if you know your Mozart from your Mahler)Someone who excels under pressure, and thrives on the challenge of attracting listeners from our competitorsA kind, collaborative and collegiate approach: we're looking for someone who has clear talent, but who's also keen to learn from colleagues and work as part of a close-knit teamAn acute understanding of where Classic FM sits within the radio marketplace, and of what makes a great commercial radio stationWho you'll be working with...Classic FM's presenters and producersClassic FM's Managing Editor and Deputy Managing EditorOther colleagues from across Global, including our digital and commercial teamsLastly, you'll demonstrate our Global behaviours:-Straight talking and sincereLove to DeliverObsessive about detailStrive to do it differently
