Rugby Tonight Producer

London

THE COMPANY
Sunset+Vine is a global sports media company with major international host broadcast production contracts and UK and international broadcast commissions. We produce more than 2,000 hours of original sports programming a year - a combination of live, highlights and feature programming.
The company has offices in London, Dubai, Singapore, Glasgow and Cardiff.

THE ROLE
As a Producer in the Rugby department at Sunset + Vine you will be a vital member of a team producing 100s of hours of high quality sports TV coverage every year. This role would predominantly be as the Producer on the midweek live studio show Rugby Tonight on BT Sport - a mix of rugby and entertainment.

The Producer would ideally have a background producing live sport television, but the job could also suit someone with a love of sport with a background in live entertainment looking for a change of direction.

The successful applicant must be well organised and able to plan an informative and entertaining weekly rugby studio show fronted by our BT Sport on screen presentation team. You should have experience of scripting and the role requires liaising with clubs, crew and on screen talent to write a running order for everyone to work off during the live production.

As a Producer you should have a good idea of how a sports TV department works, and contribute towards the management of the Rugby Tonight team and resources. The Producer should have a creative streak and requires someone willing to come up with original ideas for the show from feature/promo VTs to live studio segments to keep Rugby Tonight fresh and lively every week.

The successful applicant should have experience producing from a gallery to bring the running order to life over an hour of live programming. There may also be opportunities to produce live games so experience on a live OB environment would be beneficial.

A love of rugby and a journalistic eye is important to make sure the key talking points are covered on air. However, they must also be able to adapt to breaking news and last second changes so they must have a track record working well under pressure and communicate changes quickly and concisely to all involved.

A good knowledge of the personalities involved in the contemporary game is a huge asset, but first and foremost we are looking for someone with experience producing live television and a relentless work ethic.

Please note
Ideal start date: August 2018
Fixed-term contract for 10 months, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position
This role is based in our office at BT Sport in The Olympic Park in Stratford.
The role will include weekend and evening work

THE APPLICATION
To apply, please send a covering letter and CV by 6th August 2018.

Sunset+Vine continues to welcome diversity, celebrate individuality and support an inclusive working environment. As users of the disability confident scheme, we are aiming to interview as many disabled applicants as possible who meet the criteria for the role.
