Producer

Glasgow

RECRUITING: Experienced, talented corporate video Producer or TV Producer, with a social conscience to join an award-winning corporate video and TV co-operative. Role based in Glasgow.

- Skilled in creative development, budgets, schedules, contracts and problem-solving.
- Inspired by the chance to work for an ethical production company, making content for social justice.

You might be a Producer from a corporate video company, with an interest in broadcast.
Or a TV factual/documentary indie Producer interested in exploring non-broadcast.
Or an experienced Production Manager, ready to step up to the next level.

You have media production skills, experience and flair, and you're looking for work that's ethically worthwhile and personally satisfying.

media co-op is a well-established ethical business based in Glasgow, running successfully since 2004. The bulk of our work is non-broadcast video and animation, but we also make TV documentaries on social issues, including international co-productions.

About you

Professional skills
We are looking for an experienced Producer with flair and with expertise in
- Creative development
- Budgeting
- Scheduling
- Contracting
- Pitching
- Working on own initiative and organising own workflow

Desirable skills
- Contacts with broadcasters
- Knowledge of international co-production of broadcast TV
- Contacts with freelance talent in the film and digital industries in Scotland
- Interest & expertise in financial management and cost reporting for a small company
- Gaelic language an advantage

Salary
Because media co-op believes in equality, we pay everyone on the staff the same rate, no matter what their job title or grade. Currently the annual salary for everyone in the team is £25,600 (pro rata for posts that are less than full time).

Working days
Flexible - this role would suit a parent or someone with caring responsibilities or someone who would like redress their work/life balance

Starting date
Negotiable
There will be a 3-month probationary period.
