Post Production Operator/Editor

Universal Pictures International is seeking an experienced, detail-orientated self-starter who has previous experience working within a Post Production environment.Operators will work in a machine room, use editing platforms, encoding software and operate tape and baseband equipment in a busy internal facility.
An understanding of the importance of content security is a large part of this role. The facility services all of Universals product, and as such, the operator will be working on and dealing with highly sensitive materials.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Comprehends and completes all incoming work orders
Establishes priorities and proactively communicates all errors and discrepancies to supervisor
Continually evaluates media content quality and offers suggestions on standard operating procedures to improve quality control
Follows internal control procedures to quickly and efficiently direct and distribute data or physical product with no waste/lost work time
Proactively communicates and coordinates with other departments and facilities to manage workflow, prioritise work, or resolve problems as they arise
Develops positive team relationships with mangers, subordinates, co-workers
Runs and maintains a facility wide encoding workflow
Adheres to the companies and departments content protection procedures at all times
Responsible for the digital distribution of media between territories where necessary
Continually evaluate changes in technology and opportunities to improve practices.
Shift work will be required
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
Essential
Experience working in a busy Post Production facility
Required to deal with and be responsible for sensitive feature material
Knowledge of forensic watermarking, an understanding of anti-piracy and the importance of content protection
Working knowledge of tape dubbing between multiple formats
Familiar with Standards Conversion
Accomplished on Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere
Working knowledge of After Effects desirable
Knowledge of all professional tape formats, players and recorders.
Excellent knowledge of encoders, transcoders and codecs
Knowledge of digital workflows, and digital transfer methods
Awareness of Digital Cinema - creation and playback
Understanding of cinema projection, and the related technologies
Experience in a client facing capacity
Ability to relay technical information to non-technical people
