Post Production Co-Ordinator

London

The primary role of the Post Production Coordinator is to assist in managing the daily tasks of the
post production support team for the award winning Vice News Tonight on HBO, including assistant
editors, freelance coordinators and translators, to ensure that all projects are prepared for edit
efficiently and delivered to daily deadlines. This role requires solid knowledge of technical post
production as well as of delivery for television.
You must have demonstrable experience in a fast turn around broadcast environment, which
includes prioritising tasks for a team of people in a high-pressure environment. You will need to
work effectively with a wide variety of staff from post production in both local and international
offices, providing supervision to Premiere Pro and After Effects projects, as well as working within
our server and MAM environments.

Day to day tasks include:

? Directing traffic across ingest, offline, online, delivery and archive workflows
? Scheduling editor and assistant editor tasks and projects
? Coordinating freelance translation services, including copy-checking of translations and
managing invoicing
? Tracking and processing archive material from a variety of libraries and sources
? Delivering projects and material to New York for online and broadcast, ensuring they are
sent on time and to spec
? Maintaining regular contact with post departments in international bureaus
? Escalating technical issues when appropriate
? General post production duties; which may include ingesting of media, delivering links to
producers, recording VO and creating graphics elements using After Effects templates

Responsibilities:

? The coordination of post production work, including the scheduling of the support
personnel responsible for completing it, working closely with the News Post Production
Manager
? To be the main point of daily contact between the post production team and production
? To provide administrative support, as well as contributing to the management of the
resources available so as to bring innovative ways of maintaining and improving
workflows
? Having the knowledge of the exact location within the department of each project, and
the stage it is at in the post production process.
? The maintaining of excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both internal
and external parties
? Helping to monitor News' assigned storage on the server and managing the movement
of content to archive as needed.
? To multi-task, work quickly and respond positively to the high-pressure and fast turnaround
nature of a news environment

Working Hours:

? 11:00 - 19:30 with a 1 hour break - however may be scheduled on rotation between
8am and 8pm as required
? Due to the nature of News reporting a certain degree of flexibility in working hours is
expected
