Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid head up Good Morning Britain's team of Journalists between 6.00am and 8.30am, Monday to Friday. It's ITV Daytime's first edition. engaging, news-driven content is our number one priority and is at the heart of everything we do. We now have an exciting opportunity for you to join this team as their Political Researcher to provide outstanding research support on a day to day basis.
Political news is coming in thick and fast at the moment and will stay busy throughout 2018. We're looking for a bright and motivated journalist who will throw themselves into the thick of it and continue to make our political coverage bigger and bolder.
As one of our Researchers you will come up with ideas for political items and strands, research stories and write concise and factually correct briefs. You will conduct research interviews and brief our political guests, forward plan and assist with producing live on location.
You will be creative and passionate about television and have an excellent knowledge of current affairs and the issues that matter to our viewers. You will be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
The successful candidate must have a flexible approach to work as the role requires working to a shift pattern including early mornings and some Bank Holidays/ Weekends for which time will be given back in lieu.
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must have strong research and fact checking skills, a background as a Political Researcher in a broadcast or news environment and a degree is journalism is advantageous.
