Platform Editor

The Platform Editor is a member of the editorial team responsible for bringing All 4 and its sub-brands (e.g. Walter Presents) to life across all owned-and-operated channels.

Each Platform Editor is responsible for a particular platform group (web, mobile, big screen), as well as owning an audience taste group based on programme viewing. They will also be tasked with creating and managing specific areas of All 4, including the All 4 homepage, Channel Pages (Walter Presents, VICE etc), collections and 'Watch Next.' The role reports to the Daily Editor for All 4.

Key Responsibilities

• Take personal responsibility for maximising viewing on All 4, in line with the priorities laid out by the Daily Editor and by actively identify cross-promotional opportunities
• Realise the All 4 tone-of-voice through intelligent curation and copy-writing including homepage planning, curating channel pages and collections and writing weekly newsletters
• Manage daily image selection and collaborate with Picture Editors to routinely review and optimise on-platform editorial image selection and be able to identify best practice in platform editing from a broad range of competitor services
• Offer proficiency in a particular platform group (web, mobile, big screen), inputting into the development of front- and back-end products as appropriate
• Become an expert in audience targeting, with a view to maximise viewing and drive retention within your own designated taste group; Devise and implement MVT and A/B tests on All 4 and input into user-testing sessions
• Demonstrate a passion for television and All 4 content and recognise the appeal of a wide variety of programming to different audiences
• Play an active role in building a collaborative and generous culture
• Enshrine the 360 Diversity Charter in work practices.

Essential Experience

• Demonstrable experience in content creation and managing CMS
• Demonstrable experience in, or significant exposure to, brand creation and on-going management
• Demonstrable experience in copy-writing, web/app editing and image selection
• Experience in the sophisticated use of audience data
• Demonstrable knowledge of the All 4 archive of programming
• An understand of best practice SEO
• Experience of working in a fast-paced media environment
• Basic knowledge of Photoshop (desirable but not essential)
