Little Dot Studios is one of the fastest growing next-generation media companies in the UK. We manage YouTube channels and social video for over 100 global TV brands, from The Graham Norton Show to Formula E. We also produce original and branded video content, and have launched several award-winning branded campaigns.
We are recruiting for an Operations Assistant to join our team and work across Little Dot's original hub channels - Real Stories, Timeline, Only Human, Nurture, Spark & Wild Things. These channels license and broadcast documentary, history, specialist factual, features and lifestyle content. We are looking for an Operations Assistant who is enthusiastic and passionate about creating content for social platforms and who can become a key member of the Little Dot Studios team. They'll need to be proactive and enthusiastic with a range of skills as the day-to-day role will include video editing, graphic design, repurposing TV content for online, content logging, channel uploads and other general support to the Channel Management team.
Key Responsibilities
• Helping to build and maintain Little Dot's own YouTube channels: Designing brand assets, creating clips, optimizing metadata and uploading to a schedule agreed with the channel management team
• Creating and optimizing video for other social platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram
• Working to a schedule agreed with the Channel Manager and Channel Editor to ensure videos are released regularly.
• Managing community features on YouTube & Facebook, including creation of images, GIFs and social posts.
• Writing copy for social posts on YouTube and Facebook, understanding the importance of editorial voice and tone.
• Responding to daily messages from viewers with the correct editorial voice and tone.
• To repurpose full length documentaries into 3-minute videos for Facebook
• Growing a Facebook & YouTube audience, and understanding the type of content that keeps them engaged.
• General department support and assisting the Channel Management team with the running of their channels.
• Whilst key office hours are 9.30am-6pm, Monday to Friday, it is expected that some out of hours work may be required, including evenings and weekends on occasion.
Personal Attributes, Skills & Experience
Operations Assistant must have: -
• Excellent knowledge of social media platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Snapchat) and an interest in the differences between them
• Proven experience in graphic design and video editing
• Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Photoshop.)
• Excellent knowledge of different videos formats, video compression, sound/video synchronisation
• Knowledge of Adobe After Effects (bonus)
• Languages (bonus)
• Some knowledge of the YouTube and Facebook content management system and other video platforms (bonus)
• Team player with a hard-working flexible attitude and interest in working in a dynamic start-up environment.
