Our mission is to reach new audiences, on new platforms with new digital content. You will create content for ITV News' digital platforms and drive growth on branded social media and our website. This role will focus on fantastic news and feature writing - clean, accurate copy written to deadline - and will include working with video. Content could come from original sources, live digital broadcasting, agency copy or be made up of user-generated content. You will secure maximum impact for ITV News' television material online, and re-edit and clip television material with digital platforms in mind. The successful candidate will write news stories, publish blogs and take on some other web duties as well, including running the news desk. This role contains shift work, including occasional weekends.

Responsibilities
Produce content for all ITV News digital platforms:

Generate ideas for stories and multimedia coverage
Write punchy and original headlines for social media and the website
Write and edit news stories and blogs for the website using the Content Management System
Maintain the highest standards of spelling, punctuation and grammar
Edit television and agency material with social platforms in mind - securing views for our content in the digital world
Show distinctive judgement about digital storytelling - with confidence about what elements will resonate with an online audience and what will perform in the medium
Proficiency in both AVID Newscutter, Adobe Premiere, plus other media technology to produce and clip video from across ITV News and regional news


Produce some original stories, interviews and coverage across a wide range of social media platforms and the website:

Produce innovative and creative videos from programmes including On Assignment and Tonight
Make engaging thumbnails and share cards for videos and written stories
Provide imaginative treatments for complex stories and present complex ideas simply and in a compelling manner
Ensure stories are accurate and comply with the law and relevant regulations
Work in accordance with ITN guidelines on health and safety in the office and in the field
Occasionally work on the output, news-desk or other teams if required following training
Deal professionally with members of the public and guests
Weekend work and unsocial hours included
