Job Title: Multi-skilled Studio Operator Grade 2

Job Purpose: A multi-skilled position working across the range of technical disciplines on all live and pre-recorded productions

Key responsibilities & accountabilities
• Studio camera operation
• Vision control operation
• Micing and sound mixing
• CTA operation - patching of video and audio feeds
• Lighting operation
• Providing office cover
• Prepare studios for use and maintaining equipment
• Providing assistance on studio floor
• Rigging and de-rigging of equipment
• VTR operation
• Attend production meetings when requested
• Clean and maintain equipment
• Any additional duties as requested
• Use Mend Me to report and track faulty equipment

Specific Requirements
• Operational knowledge of video and audio standards
• Good colour vision (subject to an Ishihara Test) and excellent hand-to-eye co-ordination
• A working knowledge of video line-up and vision control
• Studio camera operation skills
• Knowledge of microphone techniques and sound mixing
• Knowledge of VTR operation
• Working knowledge of CTA operations
• Working knowledge of creative and effective lighting techniques
• An understanding of studio & gallery procedures and the TV infrastructure
• Appropriate IT skills
• Knowledge of Heath & Safety legislation and procedures
• Grade 2 level Focus completed
• 1 years' experience as a Junior MSSO or equivalent
