The job purpose is to produce graphics for an entirely new genre of visual journalism - weekly extended news packages / 'films' for the Facebook Watch platform. This unique opportunity requires an exceptional visual mind to develop digital and multimedia motion graphics to the highest editorial standard - leading with the creation and deployment of an entirely fresh and dynamic visual style and brand identity.

Responsibilities
To design graphics to an agreed brief for Channel 4 News' Facebook Watch series
To communicate and liaise effectively with the Series Producer about the graphics requirements for each individual story
To take a lead in developing new design techniques, and establish and entire visual style and identity for the Series, in liaison with the Series Producer
Work alongside other members of the production team to embed graphics in the telling of the story

Qualifications
Degree in a design discipline
At least 4-5 years' experience in producing graphics to deadline, ideally for broadcast news
Highly skilled in After Effects and Photoshop
Experience of working in a multi-platform environment, and of working to tight deadlines across multiple projects at once
An in depth knowledge of television and digital design, any related technical restrictions and different social media formats
A passion for news and current affairs and telling stories in new ways
An understanding of text and all its restrictions on screen
Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively with producers in the field
Willingness to push the boundaries and bring innovation, creativity and original ideas to a brand new type of journalism
Must demonstrate calmness under pressure
Understand Channel 4 News values and agenda to deliver the best quality content.
