We are recruiting for an MCR/Transmission Support Engineer to join our 24/7 broadcast team at Chiswick play-out facility. This role encompasses responsibilities for all of Chiswick MCR's daily operational commitments which includes substantial amounts of live programming. The role also provides first line technical support to the broadcast infrastructure to ensure that services provided to customers are continuously available and performing to Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance levels. Key requirements include: Ensuring that all elements of signal distribution are technically & operational compliant within the broadcast infrastructure. Liaise with platform providers and signal transport providers to investigate reported or identified faults and obtain "ticket" numbers with relevant details for internal reporting. Liaise with the client to ensure that all appropriate bookings are in place for programme feeds requiring external circuit feeds. Liaising with the ITV Playout operation to ensure all information relevant to maintaining the broadcast schedules is communicated and acted upon in a timely manner. Liaising with 3rd party suppliers with respect to fault diagnosis and improvements in the broadcast infrastructure Set-up and maintain ad-hoc MCR facilities for programme coverage from outside broadcasts and other external programme sources. Incident diagnosis and proactive problem solving including remedial actions or appropriate escalation where necessary. Maintaining the Technical & Operational daily logs & records. Following guidelines and procedures to ensure that all technical transmission systems are running to the optimum capabilities of the technologies in use. To help and assist with any technical issues within the Chiswick Park Transmission Playout Centre Ensuring that the transmission integrity of pictures, sound and ancillary service data is maintained. Assisting with the installation and maintenance of equipment and software changes and documenting such changes in compliance with recommended practice. To liaise closely with Media Logistics and TOCs (Transmission Operations Coordinators) to provide a high level of service support for broadcast clients. Involvement in future projects or UAT testing of project installations Maximising the company's performance with regard to the prevailing service SLA's Identifying and recommending better working practices and procedures.Key Qualifications: Education: Academic degree or equivalent National Diploma level, preferably in engineering background Experience within the broadcast industry. Good IT general skills.
