MCR Operator

Bangor

Perform is looking for an experienced individual to join our MCR team based in Bangor, Northern Ireland. You will need to be able to work in a challenging environment ensuring our live operations are uninterrupted and run smoothly in line with the terms of our SLA's. Our work is mission critical, we are on the front line of the company's global content ingest of sporting content from across the globe for use on multiple platforms. Our schedules follow global sport calendars, so this position requires the candidate to work days, nights, weekends and public holidays on a shift basis. The ideal candidate will need to prove their ability to work in a busy broadcast environment.

HERE'S YOUR ROLE BROKEN DOWN (NOT ALL OF IT, JUST THE MOST IMPORTANT STUFF)

Downlink of satellite / RF content across both local and remote ingest hubs

Management of IP contribution circuits

Complete routing and switching of events based on internal booking system

Monitor QOS of all transmissions for audio / video faults

Escalate faults and troubleshoot with 3rd parties

Escalate and mediate support issues between departments internally using company system

Conduct daily latency tests of all available sources to ensure delivery of the fastest sources possible

Consider service up time as high priority

Ensure reporting is accurate and detailed to allow for effective incident managing

Take direction from Senior team members and manage tasks as part of a team



DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS?

Live operational experience

A keen eye for detail

Proven technical aptitude

Excellent desktop applications knowledge

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAD THESE DESIRABLES TOO

Knowledge of satellite delivery, decrypting and decoding

Experience in use of broadcast equipment such as SA, IRDs, AV / RF routers etc

Prior experience working within an MCR environment

Experience working within a post-production environment

Understanding of Digital media, IPTV, encoding, distribution and playback technologies

Knowledge of video contribution circuits

Interest in global satellite DTH services and consumer STBs

Experience or sound knowledge of IP networks

Experience of working on a client facing support desk
