Run VT are seeking an MCR Assistant. You will be providing support to all our suites and to the everyday running of MCR, based in Fitzrovia W.1.ABOUT THE ROLEMain Purpose of Job: Reporting to the Head of Post Production and Director of Operations, you will be providing support to all our suites and to the everyday running of MCR. Detailed Duties:• Preparing & setting up edit suites for bookings prior to client's arrival• Ensure that all connections to and from the edit suites are set up correctly for the edits to run smoothly and problem free especially on suite moves• Digitising and ingest a variety of sources to an Avid storage system in the correct format depending on the specific job requirements set by the Technical Manager• Encoding and converting media using multiple systems• Tape and File delivery to a variety of formats meeting exact delivery requirements and broadcast specifications• DVD deliveries and authoring.• Media and project management on Avid Media Storage system• Working knowledge of Forscene• Rigging, digitising and deck layoffs using a wide variety of VTRs including Digibeta, Beta SP, DVCAM, HDVCAM, HDCAM, DVCPro and SR• Coordinating with the Post Producer to ensure stock is available for production delivery• Checking all layoffs, encodes and digitising to ensure it matches with the client's request and is technically accurate• File and Tape QC, using a scope and waveform monitor to ensure legal technical requirements are met• Problem solving AVID errors in an efficient manner that keeps the loss of edit time down to a minimum• Dealing with clients' requests for work in a timely manner while continuing the day to day activities to assist all edit suites. Reassuring clients of accurate time scales and delivery times• Undertaking additional duties as may be assigned from time to time• Conform - tapeless work flows• AS11 file delivery process in accordance to DPP guidelines• Exporting media to outlined specifics• Create audio deliverables for in house or out house• Flux media into baselight and test. ABOUT YOUKey Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:• Good knowledge of AVID edit systems including Media Composer and Symphony (Essential)• Full understanding of television standards and how television works (Essential)• Technical aptitude of AVID editing, encoding and VTR's. (Essential)• Logical and efficient approach to solving problems. (Essential)• Computer literate on WINDOWS & MAC - WORD, EXCEL etc. (Essential)• The ability to work well under pressure• Effective communication and interpersonal skills• Strong organisational skills• Multi-tasking• Excellent attention to detail• Ability to identify, prioritise and solve problems• Able to work both within a team and autonomously• Eager and ready to learn• Self-motivated.
