And on a mission to change the way the world shops.We have a fantastic opportunity for a Master Control Operator to join our Broadcast Engineering Team as soon as possible, based at our Media and Commerce Centre at Chiswick Park.Job Description DetailsOur Master Control Operators ensure the accurate and successful operation of QVC's transmission output and are responsible for the operation of end to end media workflows used by the edit suits, live galleries and non-live playout.The role is shift based on a 8 week rolling shift pattern and includes some night shifts.Role responsibilitiesBe fully coherent with all Broadcast based systems.Preparation, recording, ingest, archiving and general Asset Management of media workflows and storage systems.Perform regular checks to key systems and channel output, including: playlists, graphics, EPG and QVCUK.com.Provide initial fault diagnosis and technical support for all broadcast and interactive systems.React to any system and transmission issues in accordance with set procedures.Ensure accurate monitoring of transmission output and that the automated playout systems are being controlled and operated as per the channel requirements.Cooperation with all relevant departments to ensure a fluid and accurate media-workflow.Overnight responsibility for transmission output of QVC's European markets.Complete accurate and detailed transmission reports.Keep track of equipment and software faults, following up with relevant teams to ensure problems are quickly resolved. Candidate ExperienceDegree, HND or equivalent calibre in a relevant subject.Commercial experience of working in live, transmission critical TV environments.Up-to-date knowledge of new and emerging Broadcast Technologies.Operational experience in the maintenance of digital video and audio systems.The ability to remain calm whilst working in a pressurised environment, think around problems and find effective solutions.Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical people.At QVC we see it like this, you spend a third of your life in work, so work happy* Live better
