Location Runner & 3rd Assistant Director Freelance Pool

In order to support both our busy Locations and Assistant Directors' Departments, we regularly offer short-term and long-term contracts to cover either of these positions.

Locations Runner is an entry level role, however previous experience would be advantageous. This role involves supporting the Locations team in helping set up a filming unit and ensuring the smooth-running of the shooting day with regards to locations. We have multiple units shooting simultaneously, so you will need to be flexible and adaptable with the ability to help us run more than one Unit at a time - you may start the day on one location and end the day on another, so there is a great deal of variety and adaptability within this role. You will need to be on location before any crew/vehicles arrive in order to guide them in and park them up and expect to be the last to leave after wrap.

3rd AD: We are looking for freelance 3rd ADs, or competent Runners who would like to develop towards this role. Your responsibilities as a 3rd, will be to support our 1st AD either in the studio or out on location, as they work their way through a demanding production schedule set against tight deadlines.

As with either of these roles when you leave us you should have gained the knowledge and skill-base to confidently work across a variety of dramas in a freelance capacity and retain links in the ITV Talent Pool.

You should already have a credit list of working in the capacity of a Runner or other similar
role in the TV industry. Excellent communication skills are essential, together with strong organisational and administration skills. You will also be a diplomat - absolute discretion and confidentiality is a requirement of both of these roles. You will have the ability to work under pressure, work long and unsociable hours in both a studio and location environment (often during inclement weather conditions) and be prepared to change your working pattern at short notice. A driving licence is preferable for the 3rd Assistant Director role and essential for that of the Location Runner, as this role incorporates driving duties. Please note that manual handling is involved with all of these roles.
