Live Media Delivery Technician (Encoding Engineer)

Endeavor Streaming is an emerging, disruptive digital media and technologies department within the global Endeavor brand. As part of our continued growth we are looking for people who are interested in joining our existing team based at our broadcast facility in Uxbridge. A desire to learn, embrace technology and acquire new skills are the only qualifications needed although experience in Live transmission/ Live Streaming would be an asset.

Where the role sits within the department and wider business:
The Live Media Delivery Technician sits sits in the Live Operations dept within Endeavor Streaming and is in the 1st mile of the content delivery engine for the wider business
Key areas of responsibility and the deliverables expected:
The Live Media Delivery Technician is responsible for all aspects of the live content package, before, during, and after an event. This includes, but is not limited to:-
Pre flight checks, communications with content providers, real time reporting, quality checking and assurance, troubleshooting, network diagnostics, production support and post event reports.
You will be in the hot seat, managing multiple live events from around the globe.
You should be able to demonstrate a strong track record of successfully delivering/supporting live streamed events and/or working in a live broadcasting facility, or experience in handling live video content or similar. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high pressure environment, taking the initiative, managing multiple projects, and working to super tight timeframes.
Who the role reports to:
The Live Media Delivery Technician reports to the Manager and Operational Team Lead.
Key duties for the role include:
* Being able to use industry specific software tools and broadcast equipment
* Fault finding and problem solving, and knowing when, how and who to escalate faults to as required
* Monitoring and maintaining consistent acquisition / transmission / broadcast in line with our Service Level Agreements or other organisational targets.
You have the Required / Desired experience:
* Able to perform basic network configuration tasks and troubleshoot broadcast IT systems
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Sheets/Docs
* Experience and understanding of the rigours of 24/7 live operations and/or live broadcast production
* Experience and understanding of Live Media workflows
* Excellent written and spoken English
* Good typing proficiency
* Excellent organisational skills
* Expert Mac and PC proficiency

Location and travel requirements:
The position is located in our broadcast facility in Stockley Park, Uxbridge. UB11 1FE

Notes:-
* The role is shift based on a 24/4 cover basis
* Due to the nature of this role the flexibility to travel across the UK and abroad is essential, as is a willingness to work flexible and unsociable hours at times, depending on project requirements.
* Manual handling may be required - training will be provided.
