We are looking a Line Producer to join the senior management team who is passionate about programme making, who thrives working in a dynamic environment and who will inspire their production management teams in thinking of new, commercial and innovative ways of working.
Role Responsibility
The Line Producer is the driving force behind all our programmes and major events. The successful candidate will work closely with the Creative Director on running the department, forward planning, running large multiple budgets and planning all our major outside broadcasts and documentary programmes from pre-production through to delivery. Overseeing the staffing of all our projects and regularly liaising with broadcasters, agencies, suppliers and freelancers is a key part of the role.
The department delivers ambitious high quality events both for broadcast and also event production which will test all of your skills as a Line Producer. You will be key in making crucial decisions that are often in challenging circumstances.
We pride ourselves on being a supportive department, working collaboratively alongside each other to make programmes come to life. The Line Producer plays a key role in delivering this support and helping to establish a positive and supportive culture. They will be fundamental in nurturing the production and editorial Events teams, as well as always looking for new talent.
The most important quality is to be a constant support to the Creative Director and to work side by side to deliver the very best events to an often global audience. You have to be a forward thinking and have a positive outlook and most importantly be able to multi-task on a huge scale. The Ideal Candidate
* Prior experience in UK and foreign outside broadcasts.
* Proven ability to juggle multiple projects at any one time; driving forward progress and ensuring deadlines are met and priorities are clearly communicated.
* Rescheduling and budgeting new options where necessary.
* Strong budgeting and scheduling skills with a sound knowledge of freelance and market rates.
* Demonstrable experience in the day to day management of production staff, undertaking responsibility for their recruitment, appraisal and training.
* Extensive management of large production teams and crews.
* Excellent working relationships with suppliers in the outside broadcast market and wider industry.
* Experience in documentary production.
* Previous experience of live programming with varied insert films.
* A proven track record of working with and supporting high profile talent.
* Demonstrable experienced in leading contract negotiations and dealing with complex insurance and business affairs issues.
* Confidence in large budget management.
* Driving savings, efficiencies and continually reviewing working practices to ensure best practice and on screen value for money.
* A sound understanding in health and safety procedures.
