Lighting TechnicianMetro Broadcast Ltd Location: LondonSalary: circa £21kMetro Broadcast Ltd is looking for a full time Lighting Technician to join it's growing Lighting Department. This is for a 6 month fixed term period, to be reviewed and potentially extended. You will need to be a creative, self-starter with an attention to detail who is prepared to get involved will all aspects of the business. The successful candidate will be required to be involved in all stages of the events from preparing and testing to installation and operating the lighting equipment, with the ability to input into the design on some of the smaller events. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of an excellent service at all times, liaising with clients as necessary to ensure that they are satisfied with the work carried out. You will be required to maintain all units and develop your knowledge of all Metro's lighting equipment, including digital consoles and moving lights.An ability to work on your own initiative is a must and you will need to be an effective team member and communicator to work effectively on large scale lighting jobs. We are looking for a creative, interactive and dynamic person to fill this role. Someone with a good background knowledge, but also with space to develop. Candidates are required to have a minimum of 2 years' relevant career experience and a full driving licence. Qualifications in Event/Theatre Lighting would be desirable.The role will include, but is not limited to;• Responsible for pulling and preparing the appropriate equipment for the job from the kit list or quote. To have input towards the correct units for the event.• Testing, preparing and widening expertise with the kit. • Light events using Metro lighting stock (Rigging, Cables, Dimming, Control, Moving Lights) • To work to deadlines in energetic surroundings • Installing in venues across London as well as travel around the UK and EU• To operate generic, LED and moving lights during the event.• To de-rig all equipment, pack it efficiently and return to the warehouse.• To act professionally and demonstrate initiative to support the smooth running of the event; ensuring the highest possible standards are maintained.• To be proactive in thinking of ways to improve future events.Metro Broadcast Ltd is one of the UK's leading corporate event suppliers, with offices in London, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Glasgow.
