Lighting Director

London

Salary Negotiable (Depending on Experience)

TBN UK is looking for a full-time Lighting Director to join our in-house broadcast production team, and run our state-of-the-art studio's lighting set-up.

Reporting to the Chief Broadcast Engineer, you will take ownership of the lighting rig across 3 multi-purpose studios, designing, implementing, operating and maintaining lighting for a range of broadcast programmes, all produced in our facilities in North-West London.

Covering content from talking heads to talk shows, live music to location shoots. If you have a firm understanding of studio lighting, an eye for detail, and a creative flair to help take our shows to the next level, then this job is for you.

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Work with our Creative Director, Producer and Multicam Director to design lighting solutions for a variety of TV shows and programme briefs
• Install, programme and maintain lighting rigs across our 3 multi-purpose studios
• Operate the lighting board during programme recordings
• Ensure our lighting solution stays fit-for-purpose as it evolves and shows are added to the production schedule
• Take ownership for all lighting control devices, ensuring high standards of data processes and backup solutions
• Working with our Chief Engineer, manage biennial PATT testing of lighting equipment
• Manage and maintain all lighting hardware, adhering to industry standard health and safety regulations at all times
• Gaffer our location shoots
• Produce and maintain studio lighting rig plans

Skills & Experience:
• You've got a positive attitude, relishing working in a fast-paced studio environment
• You're as adept at working in a team as you are working alone
• You're able to manage your own time and workload, in order to resolve conflicting priorities
• You like to plan ahead, but you're not thrown off-balance with last-minute production changes
• You've got a strong understanding of studio lighting, and love keeping abreast of the latest advances in technology and solutions
• You're a dab hand on location, able to plan and implement rigs for a variety of settings and moods
• You know your colour theory
• You know what you are doing when someone asks you to repatch a DMX universe
• You can operate an MA GrandMA2 lighting desk
