Lead Lighting & Compositing Artist

Glasgow

Axis Studios Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Lead Lighting & Compositing Artist to join them on site in Glasgow to support with an upcoming feature project.

The Lead Lighting and Compositing artist will join our senior team, providing technical and artistic leadership for the lighting/compositing artists.

You'll be a personable, pro-active, self starter who can motivate and lead the team around you as well as work with the project Director to realise his vision and ensure the standard and quality of lighting is consistently high.

This role requires a skilled Lighting & Compositing artist with a broad background creating high quality shots across a variety of projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Become knowledgeable with the tools, techniques and pipeline within the facility.

Identify tools and techniques to enhance an already established pipeline.

Identify areas requiring increased efficiency and communicate such aspects to the relevant areas

Receive and act on direction given by the CG Supervisor.

Contribute to the look development of the project you are assigned.

Create master lighting and compositing scenes to be used by more junior members of the team.

Mentor your team members both technically and creatively.

Be proactive in sharing ideas and efficiencies within the wider team and department.

Deliver CG and final, graded comps for assigned shots and sequences.

Keep the CG Supervisor and Head of LRC informed on the progress of the features project

REQUIREMENTS:

Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate, mentor and develop a team

Previous experience as a Lead Lighting and Compositing Artist on a Feature film preferred but not essential

Solution orientated with a collaborative approach to problem solving

Strong working knowledge of 3D software, preferably including Maya, Houdini and Fusion.

A strong creative portfolio and showreel.

A strong, measurable track record in delivering against project goals.

Ability to successfully delegate, mentor and manage people and projects.

Able to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced environment
