Lead Flame Artist / VFX Supervisor

London

A Senior Flame Artist should be skilled, motivated, have creative vision and a technical understanding of Flame. Strong communication and team playing skills are a must with experience of working on high-end advertising and VFX projects.

Must have extensive and recent experience working with clients, primarily directors and agency creatives/producers from initial meetings through to final delivery.

Will be required to attend shoots both here in the UK and abroad and supervise VFX requirements on-set. May also be required to direct 2nd unit/element shoots.

Must be able to breakdown and quote on complex VFX projects. Must also be confident to suggest other routes for the creative to work within client's budget.

A good understanding of Nuke would be a huge benefit.

Extensive understanding of modern VFX workflows, to include ACES and HDR.

Key Responsibilities

Operations:

Compositing and 2d project management, involving compositing of VFX/CGI elements, and the creation and integration of motion GFX.
Providing articulate, helpful feedback to in-house artists.
Pitching and quoting for new work, devising clear methodologies outlining your creative approach to a brief.
On-set VFX Supervision, with a con?dent voice and strong problem-solving abilities.
Solving creative problems using simple, efficient techniques, sharing ideas with teammates and iterating rapidly based on client notes.
Mentoring and training junior artists in your teams.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients.
Con?dently engage with clients in pre-prod meetings offering advice & solutions on how to achieve best results.
Ability to react to changes efficiently and meet delivery deadlines.
Good working knowledge of photography, filmmaking techniques and technologies.
Knowledge of 3D software packages such as C4D & Maya.
Knowledge of 2D software packages such as Nuke and After Effects.
Knowledge of 3rd party tracking applications such as PFtrack, Mocha, SynthEyes.
