Kit Room Manager

Ealing Studios, London

We are seeking a full time (temporary / fixed term) Kit Room Manager. The Kit Room Manager will work alongside the Education and Operations Team in the planning of filming kit requirements across non-accredited and accredited courses.

You will have excellent administration skills, written and oral communication and interpersonal skills and be able to act with discretion. You will have excellent planning and organisational skills and be able to work well under pressure. You'll need to be able to work in a team but on your own initiative and have an excellent eye for detail.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Leadership and Management:
* To lead and motivate a team to ensure module kit requirements are in accordance with course learning outcomes
* To understand requirements, manage and prepare kit to guarantee the highest quality of kit delivery in accordance with teaching specifications
* To collaborate with external hire company to facilitate efficient delivery, collection and troubleshooting of module related kit requirements
* To organise and oversee monthly scheduling of kit room tech support to ensure/ enable a cost effective management
* To effectively deal and assist with any student concerns or complaints regarding equipment in courteous and timely manner to ensure compliance with the School's Complaints Policy
* To monitor and track loss & damage producing accurate monthly reports to determine budgetary impact
* To design and implement effective processes for student kit check out / check in to enable robust tracking of equipment
* To deal and provide solutions in an efficient way when facing change of course requirements to avoid disruption to student learning

Communication:
* To provide a customer focused service to ensure student satisfaction is a core ethos of the kit room
* To communicate with Course Leaders, Course Managers and tutors directly in accordance with "T-10" delivery schedule to ensure optimal student engagement with delivered curriculum
* To continuously maintain good communication with education & operations department to enable outstanding educational delivery of all Met Film courses
* To liaise effectively with external kit hire company to clarify on site problems so impact to the teaching is minimalized and solutions swiftly developed
* To communicate with Course Leaders, Course Managers and tutors directly to facilitate effective technical on site trouble-shooting

Administration:
* To implement and manage information systems via Sharepoint to ensure smooth communication
* To coordinate with Marketing and Admissions department to ensure transparency for applying students in respect of course kit allocation

Miscellaneous:
* To plan training and development of the kit room tech team to support their progression
* To monitor daily operations to ensure all activities comply with H&S obligations
* To undergo H&S training to comply with company requirements

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential
* Previous experience of film equipment management
* Management experience of communicating with internal and external stakeholders
* Budget management and scheduling skills

Desirable
* A proven background in people management
* Knowledge of current trends in film equipment

Skills (professional, technical, managerial, practical)
* Ability to calmly oversee high levels of problem-solving, with the personal skills, initiative and drive to achieve solutions
* Ability to engage with and respond positively to students and staff
* Ability to work with a pro-active, flexible and adaptive approach to service
* Team player

Experience and Achievements

Essential
* Supporting complex resource dependent projects
* Budget and resource forecast planning
* Working in a role that requires excellent communication skills

Desirable
* Technical experience of film equipment
