The British Museum is seeking a Junior Website Content Editor to work as part of a team within the Information Services department. The post-holder will be responsible for editing and uploading new content to the website, migrating content from the old website, and day-to-day edits and changes as required by the Museum activities.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Monitoring and actioning the web support inbox and event publishing calendar.
Producing and editing content for the website such as to fit the brand and style guidelines, tone of voice and writing for the web guide, and migrating this into the new Drupal CMS.
Optimising web content to align with SEO and accessibility standards.
Updating the website (out-of-hours) should any website emergencies arise.
Keeping all website documentation up-to-date.
Responding to queries surrounding all web content or escalating issues to the senior digital team.

Person Specification:

Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
Experience of working along the lines of a Digital Content Producer in a public institution.
Demonstrable 2 years' knowledge of: content editing and production, copy editing, Content Management Systems (preferably Drupal/ Digital Asset Management), image editing techniques, SEO and UX writing and best practices, and Google Analytics or similar packages for extracting data.
Pro-active and an excellent communicator, both verbally and written, who is able to liaise with a variety of stakeholders who may be demanding or inexperienced.
