Junior Video Editor

We're looking for a passionate and motivated Junior Video Editor to join us until the end of December 2018! Working as part of the Social & Online team, your role will be hands-on editing and subtitling clips to build a brilliant video library of our best content fit for social platforms. The main focus of this role will be editing and subtitling but you'll have lots of exciting opportunities to work on a diverse range of video projects with our various channel brands. This is the perfect opportunity for someone with previous proven experience in an advertising, creative or media agency setting with a digital focus.

This is an FTC until the end of December 2018.

Department Summary:

The Communications team is responsible for the fame and reputation of UKTV.
The team devises innovative and compelling communications strategies for the network and its brands, to support UKTV's business strategy and maintain strong and transparent relationships between UKTV, the media and its stakeholders.
With the support of the Communications team's ambitious campaigns, UKTV is now regularly recognised for innovation, scale and creativity in the broadcasting industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Demonstrate the craft of story-telling in video-editing format
Source, clip and edit longer form video to suit social media's fast-moving timelines, taking 60" creative content and making it work creatively at 6" / 10" / 15"
Utilise animation, graphics and captions to create dynamic and thumb stopping content
Support channel social strategies across a range of needs - from daily social content, mapping out ideas for campaigns to best-in-class reactive video content
Participate in brainstorming sessions to concept solutions that showcase elegant uses of social platforms and meet brand objectives
Understanding any restrictions on the use of music/footage for certain campaigns
Effectively use social media judgement to decide which videos to cover and prioritise
Contributes ideas to social media campaigns and maintains "always on" activity that deepens audience engagement and maximises brand reach e.g. reactive social content

Experience, knowledge and skills:

Experience:

2+ years experience in an advertising/creative/media agency with digital focus, or related experience
Experience working with either brands/products/programmes/broadcasters
Passionate about video storytelling
Experience in social media content production across all platforms

Knowledge:

Proven understanding of social media and latest trends
Understanding the constraints and nuances per social platform for engagement
A genuine passion for TV

Skills:

Strong working knowledge of After Effects, Premiere and Photoshop-
A digital work portfolio that showcases video production/editing-
Strong communication skills, and the ability to work well both independently and in a cross-functional team environment
Excellent grammar and spelling
Takes a proactive and flexible approach to work and is comfortable with a dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities
Strong relationship management and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across a number of departments and services
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently requiring excellent organization
