We are based in Southampton, and are looking for a Junior Researcher from January for several months, to work on Series 9 of the highly successful BBC daytime show Close Calls on Camera.

Applicants should ideally have some experience of working with contributors who have been through life changing experiences, and be able to encourage them tell their stories. Strong communication skills essential.

Journalistic aptitude is important in order to find stories, and track down potential contributors. Experience of working with the emergency services would also be beneficial. Attention to detail, diligence and the ability to write strong research notes are a must.

The role will include filming around the country, including over-nights, and availability to work at weekends, working closely as a team with a PD.
Knowledge of cameras, sound & lighting an advantage to assist on location.

The production office is in Southampton and the research team will be based there, not home working. Our offices are Covid-safe.

Applicants should be experienced and confident drivers to share long-distance driving to locations.

Candidates should be able to provide strong references.
