Junior Production Manager

Location: Bristol. Due to the Covid19 outbreak and restrictions around social distancing this role would entail working from home until the office re-opens.

Interviews will be within the final week of October and first week of November, with a start date from mid to late November.

Job Introduction
The Natural History Unit is looking for two enthusiastic Junior Production Managers with a wealth of international filming experience to join two super landmark teams for BBC1:

Planet Earth 3 - 8 parts airing in 2023

BBC1 landmark TBA - 6 parts airing in 2024

These roles will be based on a one year contract, giving the successful applicant the opportunity to play a key role from the start of the production, where you will support both the editorial and production management team from pre-production through filming and into post. You'll implement systems, negotiate some important contracts, and set the ground work for a multi-faceted delivery.

Main Responsibilities
Managing the series filming budget, assessing financial viability of content ideas
Supporting a team of Production Co-ordinator's
Managing the Production Management Assistant and Edit Assistants including day to day line management and development
Negotiating complex access, licensing and shoot share agreements.
You may be required to manage the post production schedule on behalf of production, in conjunction with 3rd party specialists.
Required to liaise with external partners and providers, offering an excellent opportunity to work with highly acclaimed industry experts.
Contributing to all production processes, ensuring resources and editorial aspirations are aligned.
Ensure the production team are capturing all of the necessary data and metadata required for successful delivery of the series and that all relevant policies are being adhered to.
Are you the right candidate?
You will be a Junior Production Manager or a very Senior Production Coordinator with a passion for Factual content and ideally with a track record of contributing to managing complex projects. Experience in Natural History productions would be an advantage.
Demonstrable business and finance skills. Able to create, forecast and manage significant production resource and budgets. Experience of using PMI would be an advantage.
Proven track record of managing complex access agreements, licensing and shoot share agreements.
Considerable experience of delivering a range of TV productions across a range of output or genres, including natural history, on time and on budget.
Deep experience of planning and executing high-risk shoots and foreign filming is essential
Demonstrable working knowledge of end-to-end production processes with a level of technical understanding to enable the most efficient production of content.
Able to proactively contribute new ideas for working more efficiently including sustainability across the production.
Demonstrate team leadership skills, able to lead, develop and motivate teams with a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Proven negotiating skills to influence manage and negotiate deals and contracts in line with policies and guidelines.
