Main Purpose:

Encompass is responsible for delivering multiple Broadcast streams for a variety of customers, on multiple platforms.

The Junior-Level Broadcast Engineer responsibilities include learning and developing practical skills, participating in classes and workshops on and offsite, observing all health and safety codes, completing tests and assignments, as well as delivering presentations to staff and other stakeholders. You need to be well organised, flexible and willing to assist. Mentoring and development will be provided from the wider team, including the operational staff and the dedicated Radio Systems Engineer.

To be successful, you must have great time management skills and be willing to fit into the existing staff structure. The successful candidate will respond well to criticism, build good relationships with colleagues, and ultimately make a lasting impression.

Principal Responsibilities:

Attending workshops and participating in as many learning opportunities as possible
Assisting with the design and implementation of linear broadcast service playout and distribution systems
Learning and demonstrating an understanding of the standards by which Encompass Digital Media and its partners/suppliers build and deploy solutions and associated engineering and IT infrastructure
Assisting with project delivery activity
Performing and reporting on regular maintenance activities
Documentation of as-built solutions and hand-over to engineering support
Attending meetings and offering suggestions for improvements
Logging and reporting of skills learned
Building relationships with colleagues and clients
Based in the Chiswick office, travel to other sites may be required

Experience/Knowledge

Educated to Degree level in an Engineering related discipline
