Overview
Candidates should have some experience as a camera assistant, preferably in a live, multi-camera studio environment. Alternatively, work experience in a studio environment may be considered.

The candidate should possess a solid understanding of the principles of photography, videography and basic lighting skills. In the absence of academic qualifications, the candidate should be able to demonstrate a degree of technical expertise and creative flair. For example, shooting for YouTube, music videos, documentaries etc. As ITN is a news organisation, an awareness of news and current affairs would be expected.

Responsibilities
Assembling and setting up cameras and camera support equipment such as studio pedestals, dollies and cranes
Handling camera cables, setting up floor and slung studio monitors


Studio camera operation including:

Quickly and creatively framing and capturing action
Correct use of studio talkback and maintaining talkback etiquette and discipline
Planning, preparing and rehearsing scenes with the studio director
Following camera scripts/running orders
Responding quickly and accurately to instructions from the studio director
Liaising with lighting and technical staff
