Journalists work as producers on the regional TV news bulletins which start at 0630 in the morning and carry on until our popular 2230 round up. You'll need to be an excellent television news producer with a creative flair for packaging and graphics, a tenacious researcher and able to work successfully with our gallery and newsgathering teams. The job will involve editing picture sequences on Quantel, output producing bulletins. There is a tried and tested route from Journalist to on screen reporting for South East Today.
Are you the right candidate?
You'll have demonstrated you can find powerful, original stories and tell them in a compelling way. The person we're looking for will have a wide range of contacts, and a proven track record of beating their competitors to the main stories. You'll also have great production ideas, story-telling skills and a good understanding of how you can work successfully in a multiplatform newsroom, our journalists provide content for online, radio and our social media sites. The ability to shoot and edit to a high standard is desirable but not essential.
